CoEd 7th and 8th Cross Country
Game Summaries & Headlines.
Hope everyone is having a great summer! It has been great having so many kids out for summer conditioning—but if you have not made it yet, no worries! There is still plenty of time to get tuned up for the Fall season or to just see what this Cross Country thing is all about!
We will continue to offer sessions for the rest of the summer as our schedules allow.
Just a couple of reminders as we head toward the Fall season
*Please make sure that all runners come with water and a digital watch (if possible). Most of our running locations do not have easy access to drinking water.
*Girls who are interested in playing basketball CAN run Cross Country too! Junior High Girls Basketball is a “shoulder” season between fall and winter, so athletes can do both! Cross Country, in our opinion, is a great way to get in shape for basketball or any other sport!
*Runners MUST have a sports physical completed and submitted to the Junior High (or us) before we start official practice on August 12th. Incoming 7th and 8th graders who plan to join the team cannot participate in official practices without a current physical. All parents must also submit “pay to play” paperwork and fees for the Fall season. These forms can be obtained at the Junior High Main Office (call before heading over), https://ijhsathletics.org/, or on the IASD website .
*New runners are ALWAYS welcome! The summer is a great time to try out the program—we welcome ALL runners, experienced or inexperienced. To us, running is a “lifelong” sport, so it’s never too early or too late to try it out. Runners who are too young or do not plan to run Cross Country can participate in all sessions up until August 12th!
Thanks—Al and Candi Lockard, Junior High Cross Country Coaches
